How to tell your body it’s time for rest

By creating your own personal evening ritual, your inner sanctum of tranquillity and relaxation, you set yourself up for a rejuvenating sleep.

First, you need to slow the brain activity down.

The room should be slightly cool, dim the lighting or put on some relaxing music.

After your last snack of the day, take a hot shower and brush your teeth (to tell yourself you are finished eating for the day).

In your bedroom, switch off all entertainment devices such as your television or computer.  Put your cell phone on silent and/or off (to tell yourself that you are no longer available for calls)
