For someone who has never been to a gym or followed a diet, a program can be daunting. In this case too. Read on to find out how Rikki-Lee overcame the obstacles and found herself in a much better place.
My name is Rikki-Lee
I remember seeing a story that Michelle had done on Today Tonight and thinking to myself “wow, that is so awesome!”
But at the time, I sure didn’t’ have the guts to look into it further – apart from checking out the Nazafit website for more info. Seeing that it was all nutrition based was what struck me the most.
My confidence and energy levels were at an all time low. I was already doing what I thought was enough – running and outdoor fitness classes – but nothing was changing.
My body was still the same, my confidence levels were still the same, my energy levels were still the same – but worst of all: my eating was still the same too.
Everyone around me was finding “that thing’ that worked for them”, whereas I had no idea where to start or what to do. So after speaking to my husband about it, I gathered up the courage to email Michelle and after I read her reply, it was clear to me that she was just what I needed. I signed up and that was the start of my whole journey.
I went into it with no objections and no doubts about the program itself, after all, this was my first ever time doing anything like this. My biggest doubt was myself, whether or not I could actually do it.
I’d never stepped foot into a gym which was also my biggest obstacle. I went into it already so self conscious, so it was really hard to step into an arena, where it is all about looks.
I’d never followed an eating plan, never really had structure. It was all totally new to me. I trusted the plan but not me.
With Michelle I was comfortable enough to tell her my concerns and she supported me the whole way. After a change in gyms and meeting trainers that helped me, I slowly but surely became more comfortable in what I was doing and then after the first 4 weeks and realising that I’d actually done it and seeing my progress report, I felt that I could actually accomplish my goals.
Don’t get me wrong, there were many hard moments; sticking to the eating plan being one of them. Let’s be honest, I strayed and I ate things I shouldn’t have and I struggled, but I must say, the meals that both Michelle and I chose to use were so yummy and with a bit of prep work, they were easy to make.
My biggest turning point and “wow” moment was when people started noticing and making comments about how well I looked. It was the biggest thrill for me.
I’d never felt so good as I did then. I had energy, I was sleeping much better and I found I could mentally and physically function all day. My mental health was awesome. It had an affect on my whole family, especially my relationship with my husband, not that it wasn’t bad before but it was just better.
At the end of the day, after the 12 weeks were done, I looked and felt great.
I would recommend Michelle’s program to anyone, whether you have no experience at all or all the experience in the world. Her program is by far the best for you, your body doesn’t miss out on anything or get given the wrong things. What it does get is nourishment, health and vitality. Your body will soak up everything you give it – and if you give it the right food, it will thank you for it big time.
Our bodies are our biggest and best asset. We need to look after them.
